Our Childcare Center operates Monday-Friday, 6am – 6pm, and is closed on all nationally recognized holidays, and holidays of the Christian Faith. As a teacher, you will be expected to work as a team with your classroom aides and with the children to help them prepare for kindergarten. You are expected to help meet the social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and spiritual needs of each child. Teachers should demonstrate an encouraging demeanor at all times. When working with children, no matter if you are speaking to an adult or a child, little ears hear everything! It is your responsibility to make sure your classroom is a healthy and safe environment for the children. You will be expected to interact with the children by getting down on the floor, sitting, kneeling, squatting, and lifting the children. We are a “faith-based” education center, and we frequently engage the children in lessons from the Christian Bible. Teachers will be asked to work Bible teachings into their daily and weekly lesson plans.
Job Duties:
– Create lesson plans that both prepare children for Kindergarten and integrate the Bible teachings of Jesus
– Demonstrate a positive and encouraging attitude that will engage those around you
– Meet the emotional, spiritual, cognitive, social, and physical needs of children in your care
– Maintain a safe and healthy classroom environment, including attention to the wellness of each individual child, and recognizing when they need to be turned away from the childcare center
– Encourage respect for all things: toys/equipment, each other, nature, etc., and lead by example
