KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Grace Beginnings Academy Assistant Director supports the Directors and Head of School in managing daily operations, supervising staff, ensuring compliance, and fostering a positive relationship with families. The position works Monday-Friday from 9:15 a.m.- 5:45 p.m.

 

Operations + Licensing

  • Assumes administrative responsibility in the director’s absence
  • Assists in completing required licensing forms
  • Assists in reviewing and filing student and staff information
  • Responds to parent communication: in person, phone, and Brightwheel messages
  • Assists in executing staff training content
  • Ensure GBA adheres to health, safety, and licensing regulations
  • Participate in the administrative team
  • Share operating director shifts with the leadership team

 

Staff Supervision

  • Is the supervisor to assign staff, including teacher assistants, floats, and/or substitutes
  • Conducts regular 1-1s with direct reports + annual reviews
  • Regularly walks around the facility to observe
  • Assist in recruiting, interviews, onboarding, and mentoring teachers
  • Support teachers in child behaviors

 

Family Relations

  • Greets and welcomes families to the school
  • Partner with families through words and actions for the best of the child
  • Assist in student orientations
  • Assist in planning and executing family community events throughout the school year
  • Other duties as assigned

 

PROFESSIONAL AND SPIRITUAL EXPECTATIONS

  • Educational requirements: Bachelor’s in education or related field, must meet director status per MN licensing
  • Experience required: 2+ years in leadership, 3+ years as a lead in a licensed childcare center
  • Strong computer and technology skills, attention to detail, multi-tasking, and organization
  • Articulate and welcoming both in verbal and written communication
  • Has a commitment to prayer, as evidenced in both corporate and personal prayer
  • Exhibits a meaningful and growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, as evidenced by the manifestation of the fruit of the Holy Spirit
  • Exhibits a lifestyle appropriate to a person in public Christian ministry by conducting life with the utmost integrity in all situations
