The Coach Mentor is responsible to provide CLASS observations and mentor coaching, overall classroom support and follow-up for WCCA Head Start teachers and staff at our center based programs located in Wright and Western Hennepin County. This position will ensure teachers are getting direction and supervision needed to successfully teach and implement the assigned curricula and practices which promote high quality learning and school readiness for Head Start participants.
This position works 40 hours per week during the school year with benefits available year round.
Education and Experience:
-Must have a Bachelor’s, or advanced degree in Early Childhood Education, or related degree.
-Experience teaching preschool children and Head Start program operations.
-Experience or ability to train/mentor Head Start teaching staff.
-Experience or ability to work with groups of parents and individuals from diverse socio-economic backgrounds.
Required Skills and Abilities:
-Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
-Ability to establish and maintain accurate, up to date records and data tracking.
-Must have access to transportation for regular business travel.
-Must be available for occasional evening activities.
-Must meet State Licensing requirements for First Aid and CPR certification, Child Passenger Safety training, physical examination, and pass a MN DHS required background study.
-Must become a certified CLASS observer within 90 days of hire.
-Must be able to utilize and operate computers in daily operations
Pay: $34,554.00 per year
COVID-19 considerations: A Covid-19 vaccine or WCCA approved exemption is required per a Federal Head Start vaccine mandate. Masking is required regardless of vaccination status.
