Happy Days Learning Center is hiring a new Director!

The Mission of Happy Days is to nurture children 6 weeks to 6 years in an enriching early childhood environment, meeting their developmental needs through play, exploration and education.
The Director is responsible for supervising all staff, the student experience, and the day-to-day
operations of the program. Below are a list of job responsibilities and qualifications.
Operations
● Ensure all state licensing rules and regulations are followed
● Manage staffing schedules and substitute assignments
● Hire, train, and supervise all staff
● Plan and manage staff development days
● Supervise the kitchen and obtain necessary training to serve as the Certified Food
Protection Manager for the program
Program Development and Delivery
● Function as an additional teacher or classroom staff for a portion of each week
● Assist teachers in conducting regular evaluations of child development, and help
coordinate two family conferences every year
● Assist in classrooms as needed and work individually with students as needed
● Provide ongoing support and evaluation of teachers
● Identify and train volunteers and substitutes
● Communicate with families about their child’s experience at Happy Days
● Maintain Parent Aware Accreditation
Grant Funding
● Identify and pursue grants and new funding opportunities when they align with the
needs of the program.
● Submit required grant paperwork and maintain appropriate records and receipts
Board Relations
● Communicate regularly with the Board of Directors and provide monthly updates about
the program
● Attend evening Board meetings monthly
Required Qualifications
● Demonstrated ability to work independently with little supervision, to be attentive to
details, and to complete tasks efficiently and on time
● Education and/or practical experience in early childhood development and program
management and administration
● Adept with the use of technology, including invoice management software,
communications platforms, and databases.
● Ability to work full time on site at Happy Days Learning Center, following the program’s
schedule of M-F year-round.
● Be a graduate of a high school or hold an equivalent diploma attained through successful
completion of the commissioner of education-selected high school equivalency test
● Have at least 1,040 hours of paid or unpaid staff supervision experience
● Have at least nine quarter credits or 90 hours earned in any combination of accredited
courses in staff supervision, human relations, and child development.
● Be at least 18 years old
Preferred Qualifications
● Experiencing in grant writing
● Previous experience in program development and evaluation
● Experience working with or serving successfully on the board of a small nonprofit
organization
● Meets lead teacher qualifications as outlined by the MN Department of Children, Youth,

Position: Exempt
● Salary: 51-58K commensurate with experience and level of teacher qualifications as
outlined by the MN Department of Children, Youth, and Families
● All holidays and closures paid
● Additional PTO and Sick Time Accrual
